Another Day That Will Never Be Forgotten

Another Day That Will Never Be Forgotten

September 11, 20253 min read

On the eve of September 11—a date already branded into America’s conscience—our nation was shaken again. Twenty-four years after watching the towers fall, we watched another life collapse before our eyes. Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed while speaking to students in Utah.

The footage spread quickly across social media, uncensored and unfiltered. Unlike other violent content—often blurred or suppressed—this video was allowed to circulate freely, showing every drop of blood, every fall of his body. The most disturbing part wasn’t just the act itself, but the reaction. Across the comment sections, voices cheered, mocked, even celebrated the death of a man for daring to speak differently.

That is not freedom. That is not humanity.

A Voice That Rose from Youth

Charlie Kirk’s story is extraordinary. At just 18, he co-founded Turning Point USA, transforming it into a movement that spoke directly to young people about liberty, faith, and the promise of America. He expanded his work through Turning Point Action, Turning Point Faith, and a widely listened-to daily podcast. He wasn’t a career politician—he was a motivator, a provocateur, a messenger who went where the next generation gathered.

Whether one agreed with him or not, Kirk forced people to think. He stood in the public square when it was easier to retreat. For that, he paid the ultimate price.

Charlie Kirk Honored

The Shoes We Walk In

As I reflect on his life, I cannot help but see my own path mirrored. I know what it means to challenge the mainstream. I know the weight of speaking boldly, no matter the cost. The truth is, had my voice reached the same national stage, what happened to Charlie could just as easily have happened to me.

That thought doesn’t frighten me—it humbles me. It reminds me that those who speak against the grain carry a target. And yet we go anyway, because the mission is worth it. To reach the youth, to challenge the narrative, to call America back to truth—that is worth any risk.

A Nation at a Crossroads

The tragedy of Charlie Kirk’s assassination is not only a loss of one man, but a reflection of where we stand as a nation. When freedom of speech is met with violence, when debate is replaced with bloodshed, we are no longer arguing about policy—we are arguing about civilization itself.

This day will be remembered as another day we will never forget. Not just for the tragedy, but for what it revealed about us.

Carrying the Legacy

Charlie Kirk leaves behind a wife, two children, and a movement he built from scratch. But he also leaves a challenge: will we be silent, or will we carry forward the mission to speak truth boldly, even when it costs us everything?

For me, the answer is clear. As Joshua declared, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” In honoring Charlie Kirk, I recommit myself to that same courage.

Because disagreement should never cost a life.
